Thanksmas

A new tradition was started in the extended Strum family last year...."THANKSMAS"! With everyone's families growing by leaps and bounds and the fact that our families are spread throughout Iowa, they decided to combine the holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas and get together only once during those busy holidays. It has been great and has allowed pretty much everyone to attend because it's usually scheduled in between the two holidays when everyone isn't quite so busy yet.

This year's Thanksmas was this past Saturday at Aunt Pat's house, which was awesome because they live right outside Prairie City so we didn't have to travel far. I should have taken a picture of all of the food because in this family, there is ALWAYS an abundance of food & goodies. All of Andy's aunts are GREAT cooks, plus his cousin Jessie has her own catering business. She brought a homemade French Silk pie that was to die for!!! Much better than Perkins! She sent a couple of pieces home for Andy since it is his favorite...he's been savoring every bite!

After everyone had had a chance to graze through the food line it was time to open gifts. The kids love helping hand out the presents to everyone. This is then followed by about 15 minutes of pure chaos while everyone is ripping open their gifts, the kids are then off to play with their new toys and the adults go back to grazing. We always leave stuffed!

Both Greyson & Adryan had a tonsilectomy
the week before so they were both
taking it easy today.

More cousins!

"Ya know, my mom said that I have
to stay calm today and that I can't
eat anything hard. It stinks!"

"Who's this for?"

"What does this tag say?"

Look at the awesome gifts!
