Oh Christmas Tree...

We have finally found a WONDERFUL tree farm!!! The past few years have presented many obstacles when in search for a Christmas Tree. Our favorite type of tree is the Scotch Pine. We used to go to Murphy's religiously, but then a disease attacked the scotch pine's. We then tried Captain Jacks and loved it there! They even had real reindeer for the kids to pet, but then they closed. Last year I think we tried 2 or 3 different tree farms before finally going back to Murphy's and purchasing a VERY expensive tree (and one that wasn't our favorite type). This year we went on a recommendation from Tony & Lori (Andy's sister and brother-in-law) and tried out the Walnut Ridge Farm in Indianola. It was a little jaunt to get there (about 35-40 minutes) but it was well worth the trip!!! They had a TON of trees to choose from, including our favorite...the scotch pine. Oh, and did I mention cheap?! The longer needle trees (pines) were $3.00 per foot and the shorter needle trees (firs) were $6.00 per foot. We found a beauty that measured in at approximately 8 1/2 feet and only cost us $24.00! Can you believe that? I highly recommend them to ANYONE!

Greyson is all bundled up.

Kaeden plays in the snow as he patiently
waits for us to pick out our tree.

The winner!

Kaeden sits on the cart...waiting.

How many Strum's does it take
to cut down a tree?

Kaeden's attempt.

Greyson's turn.

Timber!

Kaeden helps daddy bring it to the truck.

Boy, were they tuckered out!

My poor babies.
